Motorsports Insurance – It Really Does Exist

Motorsports insurance is not at all the same as auto insurance. Auto insurance providers like http://www.autoinsurancerater.com/ typically cover you, the driver, and the damages you suffer either from an accident, poor road conditions and sometimes even the weather. It’s a policy meant to protect you from going bankrupt when the unthinkable happens on the road – not the racetrack.

So what kinds of coverage can racers and track owners get? Who protects them when accidents happen? That’s where something called motorsports insurance comes into play.

Motorsport insurance is an actual thing that does exist, but it’s a little harder to get. A lot of it depends on what you consider motorsports to be. Typically motorsports are:

- Go Karts
- Oval Track Racing
- Drag Racing

Some motorsports coverage programs cover everything from motocross to karting tracks to oval tracks. This is the sort of thing that’s perfect for a racetrack owner because who do you think has to pay when trouble happens on your track?

Motorsports insurance policies can also offer benefits to drivers including general liability, coverage for participants and even, in some cases, coverage off the track.

The key is to remember that there is more technically involved in motorsports insurance. It’s not like insuring your civilian car you drive on civilian roads. It can get a little pricy so make sure you know what you’re getting into.
